Phantom Blade Zero Release Date & Launch Checklist

October 29, 2026 release on PS5 and PC: check the official launch notice, preload update and driver warning before starting.

This section has not been tested by this site in the retail build. Published observations are attributed to their sources; exact inputs, timings and version-specific results remain unverified.

Release date, platform and unlock checks

PlayStation’s support page lists October 29, 2026 for PS5 and PC. A store can display a different calendar date in another time zone. Check your platform library for the local unlock state; this single-player release is not a server-opening event. If Play is unavailable, check the store region, download queue and restart the client after updates.[1]

Before you launch: the day-one update

S-GAME’s October 28 notice describes an approximately 5 GB update for preloads, including ray/path-tracing improvements and fixes. A fresh download includes the update. Check the download queue before judging launch performance.[2]

NVIDIA driver warning: dated advice

On October 28, S-GAME reported instability with 621.01 and recommended 617.42, with a clean installation when rolling back. NVIDIA also published 621.12, but its notes do not name this game or confirm its issue is fixed. This is dated troubleshooting advice; do not assume either that every PC must roll back or that the hotfix resolves this game.[2][3]

Controls, display and audio reminders

The notice lists three PS5 button layouts, more flexible PC remapping, wide aspect-ratio support and a blade-clash sound option. Review these settings before committing to a long session. Official handheld optimization statements are not a verified Steam Deck frame-rate result.[2]

US Steam edition prices and Deluxe content

The official Steam listing checked October 29 shows US$59.99 for Standard and US$69.99 for Digital Deluxe. Deluxe lists Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form outfits, a digital art book and soundtrack. The separately sold US$10 upgrade excludes the base game. These are dated US Steam prices, not confirmed China, Epic or PlayStation prices; check the selected store before paying.[4]

Storage and language checks

Steam lists 145 GB available storage and requires SSD installation. It lists 15 interface/subtitle languages, with full audio for English and Simplified Chinese; Traditional Chinese has text support in this listing. Temporary preload space is a separate requirement, not the installed game size. Do not infer an early-access benefit from the word Deluxe.[4]
